Community members gathered outside Rio Bravo Brewing in Albuquerque on Aug. 26 to protest against Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) and Republican congressional candidate Greg Cunningham. Johnson joined Donald Trump and other high-profile Republicans in endorsing Cunningham, who is challenging incumbent Rep. Gabe Vasquez in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District. The press conference is Johnson’s first visit to New Mexico since Cunningham won the Republican primary in June. Protestors outside decried Johnson’s handling of the Epstein files and his past opposition to expanding the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act.
