Newly released body-camera footage shows the confrontation that led to three arrests during a packed Doña Ana County Commission meeting on Project Jupiter.
As opponents continued protesting after public comment was cut off, deputies and security moved in to clear the room, and in the ensuing scuffle, footage shows Abegail Salugsugan being pushed to the ground twice. Salugsugan was arrested along with Orin Parnell and Kiki Garden as tensions boiled over at the meeting. The arrests added another flashpoint to the fight over Project Jupiter, the massive Santa Teresa data center project that has drawn intense opposition over its expected water and power demands.
